Top Ten Ways To Celebrate Mother's Day at Your Church
We're approaching Mother's Day on Sunday, May 13, 2012. If you haven't already begun to plan for this special day, start now! What special ways have you celebrated Mother's Day? What does your church to do honor moms? Do you give a gift or have a special ceremony? Please make a comment below so we can share ideas. And be sure to find out what others are doing in the comments section. Here are some ieas...
1. Host a picnic. Don't let mom do any of the work. She should just enjoy it...
2. Make a video of children in your church saying "Happy Mother's Day" or "I love mom because..."
3. Give each mom a flower - one you can plant for them to keep.
4. Ask older moms to pray a special blessing on younger moms during worship.
5. Host a mom-and-me game night.
6. Show a movie on the evening of Mothers Day. Have kids and dads serve popcorn.
7. Invite families to submit pictures of their moms to display.
8. Plan a mom's hike or bike ride at a local trail.
9. Have kids and dads write in a Blessing Book their favorite memories with mom. Display it for all to enjoy.
10. Donate to a local women's shelter in honor of mom.

Instead of having the pastor speak a blessing at the end of worship, we'll invite people to speak a blessing to mothers. The words for the blessing will be displayed in a PowerPoint presentation for people to read aloud. If you choose to use this free PowerPoint Mother's Day Blessing, please let me know.
